In my opinion Lag ja gale from Woh Kaun thi is the best song in the whole wide world, it isn’t just nostalgia for those wonderful days of 1964.The song is really superb, sung divinely by Lata for my favourite actress of all time - the beautiful Sadhana. The photography of the song is heavenly, those sweeping camera movements, the sand & the rocks & the towering casaurina trees in the background. It stirs the soul. Even Lata has said, “Sadhana is not only beautiful she was a good actress too, she did full justice to my songs in Woh kaun thi. Do listen to this beauty (also shown in Fanaa) on you tube.
there is so much philosophy hidden in this song.
grasp this moment, live this time for it may never come again.say hello to all u meet and smile for tomorrow
who knows whether we will meet again or not.
the hindu-muslim collaboration of the 50s,60s and 70s
resulted in the best music-lyrics and sound.
wish the golden era comes again and again and all this
friction created by politicians is dismissed as nonsense
by right thinking people
‘Lag Ja Gale’ is simply mesmerizing! Such a haunting melody! And sung in Latas divine voice! There isn’t, or shall never be any other song in this world to match it’s beauty!
